Between Bali and Nusa Penida lies the island of Lembongan, a small yet remarkable part of Indonesia. Known for its beaches and clear waters, the island is also home to a traditional seaweed farming industry that once played a central role in the local economy.
This short documentary explores the reality of seaweed cultivation on Lembongan, questioning its sustainability today. Through landscapes, field observations and local perspectives, the film looks at how this practice has evolved, the challenges it faces, and its place in Bali’s changing coastal environment.
